About ME

My name is Jamie Tingle and I am the owner of Lighter Notes Tuition. I am a multi-disciplinary teacher who works with children and adults teaching a multitude of subjects including a varied curriculum and my own passion of music. I have a broad knowledge and have completed a PGCE in primary teaching, a Masters in Sociology and Global Change and an undergraduate degree in Cultural Studies.

I began Lighter Notes in order to provide quality tuition in numerous disciplines at affordable prices. Having worked in primary schools through the pandemic I have seen the effect that lockdowns have had on children’s education.

I also wanted to share my thirst for knowledge and learning with other people. My passion is music and so I originally began just offering guitar lessons but have expanded into more academic areas too.

EXPERIENCE

I have played the guitar for over 20 years and learned at the Wirral School of Music. Additionally I have performed in bands in Merseyside and Manchester and also write and record solo material which is available on Spotify, Bandcamp, Amazon, iTunes and many more places. It is available at Shark As Attack and Saturn Split. I offer guitar lessons for beginners and some intermediate players.

I have also taught in primary schools and have been doing primary, GCSE and A-level tuition since the summer of 2022. I offer tuition in maths, English and history (up to GCSE level) and sociology (up to A-level).

My skills have also been put to use in other ways. I have tutored for the 11+ exam and the Music Aptitude Test for secondary school entry and have helped nursing degree students write essays.
